Reopening of the school and blessing ceremony took place on Monday 7th June, 2021 at 10.30 a.m. The event was live streamed on Facebook and YouTube. The guest of honour was Shri. P.V. Sunil, Block Panchayat President, Kaduthuruthy. The programme began with a solemn prayer song by the students of SKPS. The event host Mr. Babu Joseph, school Vice Principal, formally introduced the eminent guests. Mrs. Mary Clemence, Head Mistress of lower primary section, delivered the welcome speech. She emphasised the need to ensure quality education for all students in this unparalleled COVID scenario.

Rev. Fr. Philip Kochuparambil OSB, Vice Prior, St. Mary’s monastery, Mariamala gave the Presidential address congratulating the school’s effort in becoming a trendsetter for digital classes. He then led the audience into the blessing ceremony with prayer and thanksgiving followed by the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, Shri. P.V. Sunil, inaugurating the new academic year. In his message, Shri P.V Sunil, mentioned the role of education in the life and society and, the process of learning and teaching shifting to new and innovative realms.

Kumari Emi Ann Varghese of class 6 sung a solo which led everyone into a soulful moment. Mr. Santhosh Jacob, PTA President, gave the felicitation speech. He emphasized that life is about accepting challenges and only those who dare to face them can achieve greatly.

Rev. Fr. Tomy Thervalakkattayil, Manager of SKPS honored the chief guest with a few words of gratitude. Mr. Babu Joseph, Vice Principal spoke a few words about the 4Cs – Covid Corona Christmas Care, a humble charity work envisaged by SKPS and coordinated by Mr. Bijo Parasseril, our office staff. The total amount collected reckoned 80000/- which was donated to four deserving families, after the formal function.

Finally, Rev. Fr. Joby Pannooraayil OSB delivered the vote of thanks ending with a note of fostering support and positivity in young minds.
