The COVID-19 pandemic has affected over 1.2 billion children across the globe as they were forced to move out of the classroom. In fact, this was the most important challenge that every school had faced during the pandemic. As a result, the education scenario went under a dramatic change and a system of online learning took over the place of the traditional classroom learning. Our school is one of the very few schools in Kerala, which had pioneered online learning strategies using the Zoom app. After the successful implementation of the first stage, the school switched over to the best possible software available for online teaching -Microsoft Teams- for better teaching and learning experience. Thereafter, full-fledged Audio – Video enabled online classes started for all the students of SKPS starting from class 1 to Plus Two. With the help of regular timetable, the classes proved to be more effective in retaining information. Periodic online examinations are conducted along with subject wise test papers. In addition, students can submit their notes and other assignments in digital form. SKPS has also developed its indigenous E-Learning platform for supporting the online learning. For classes X and XII, Saturdays are also utilised for special classes. Classes I to IX have Class teachers’ interaction and School assembly activities conducted on Saturdays. Important programmes such as Patron’s Day, Children’s Day, etc are also celebrated online. Another important aspect of online teaching is that the parents also have got the chance to observe the teaching – learning process sitting at home. In other words, every home has become a classroom!
