St Kuriakose Public School Thiruvampady, Kaduthuruthy, has organized a quiz competition for the students of class 5 to 12, on the occasion of National Reading day and Patrons’ day of the academic Year 2021-22. The Students were classified into 3 categories Class 5, 6, 7 as Category-1 class 8,9,10 as Category -2 and Class 11, 12 were as Category-3 respectively. The first round of quiz was conducted through Microsoft Teams, from which the top scorers from Category-1 & 2 were selected and 6 students from Category-3 were selected to the next round. Second round was conducted via video conference in which each contestant was 5 questions and the top 6 were selected to the grand finale. The grand finale was conducted on 13/07/2021 at School Auditorium. From each category 6 contestants were selected for the final. The selected final participants were divided into 6 teams in which one each participant from all the three categories were included. Team members and groups were created by lot system and these groups were included in the pool system as Pool A & Pool B respectively. The first session of the Grand finale was conducted in three rounds named, Testing Time, Pick your Lot and Train your brain round. At the end of three rounds the least scored team was eliminated from the first session and other two teams got to the next session of the finale. The same process was followed for pool B Teams too. So, finally there were four teams for the last session of the grand finale. This session too was conducted in 3 rounds named, Subject based rounds, Buzzer Round and Rapid Fire Round Respectively. The Quiz was based on Current Affairs, Sports, great Personalities, Science and Social Science Important dates and Celebrations and GK. During the valedictory function Chief guest Mrs Mary Sebastian – Former District Panchayt Vice President distributed the prizes and certificates and School Principal Rev. Fr Joby Panoorayil felicitated the programme. Mr Bijo P.T and Mrs Shijimole A.C were the quiz masters and Mr Babu Joseph coordinated the programme. Mr Emil Abraham and Mrs Nilna Babu managed the stage.
