On this joyful occasion of the Silver Jubilee of St. Kuriakose Senior Secondary School, we raise
our hearts to God in gratitude for His innumerable blessings. The sapling that was planted
25 years ago has grown into a big tree, strong and beautiful. With the dedicated service of
the pioneers, the successive principals and the staff, the collaboration and the support of the
parents and well-wishers, the institution has progressed steadily. It has been blessed always
with good staff and excellent students who kept the name of the school among the best.
The uniqueness of SKPS is its family atmosphere which the staff and students experience in
the campus. The paternal dealings and concerned attitude of the Vallombrosan Benedictine
management upholds this educational institution as SKPS Family. The secret of the success of
SKPS is the Harmony of hearts and Synergy in working together.
It is the opportune time for us to review the past memories and to rekindle enthusiasm for the
future with hearts filled with gratitude and courage.
Thanks, to Almighty God, who has designed and decorated SKPS so wonderfully on this
beautiful hilltop called Mariamala and for His constant care and protection during these 25
years of her journey.
We bow our heads in gratitude as we think of the three great visionaries and founders of
SKPS, Late Rt. Rev. Dr. Kuriakose Kunnachery, the first Arch Bishop of Kottayam Arch Diocese,
Rev. Abbot Lorenzo Russo OSB, Vallombrosan Congregation and Rev. Dr. Jacob Vellian, the

master brain and first Manager of SKPS. They put their hearts and souls together and laid
foundation stone on this blessed soil on 7th January 1993 in order to realize Vallombrosan
Benedictine Vision and mission in India through this reputed educational institution.
Creative and supportive approach of Rev. Sr. Goretty SJC and St. Joseph Congregation, they
played a laudable role in the infant stage of SKPS by handling magnificently the Nursery
Section.
One of the unforgettable landmarks in the life of the school is the Inauguration of the Computer
lab by the then First Lady of India, Smt. Usha Narayanan in 1998.
It was in 2000 January; I was privileged to be part of this great institute as the Assistant
Reminiscence Manager, and later in the month June of the same year I was appointed as the Manager. By
then SKPS was already marching steadily and strongly with 800 students, elevated with the
title of Senior Secondary School.

& In 2001, Rev. Shaji Padijnarekunnel joined me as Assistant Manager and Francis K. A.
as Principal and SKPS was gradually growing in name and fame in the CBSE world of education
with excellent academic results and co-curricular and cultural activities.
Due to the constant consultation and collaboration of the Vallombrosan Congregation and
Recollections the School Management, SKPS was able to own smart class rooms, fully-equipped modern
labs of science, computer and language, well-furnished library, Conference hall, Audio visual
